About Angie Mays

I earned my B.S. (2008) and M.S. (2010) in Animal Science from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. While pursuing my Master’s degree I studied the behavior and temperament of grass fed bulls as well as small ruminant physiology. My thesis research focused on evaluating the effects of endophyte-infected tall fescue on small ruminants. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. For my dissertation, I will evaluate the relationships between external parasites and specific genotypes in beef cows. Upon completion of my Ph.D., I plan to pursue a post doctoral position. My career goals are to become a research scientist that contributes to our understanding of the physiology and behavior of livestock animals.
