Meet a student leader

Chad Pilcher

Chad Pilcher is one of the two ASAS Graduate Directors for the Midwestern section.

Location:  Iowa State University, Ames, IA

Area of research:  Swine Nutrition

Favorite song to play in the lab:  It’s My Life (by Bon Jovi) or anything by Garth Brooks

A tip for surviving grad school:  Stay balanced.  Research and coursework are extremely important; however, take opportunities to learn more about your future industry and always take time to relax and have fun.

Favorite meal on a grad student schedule:  I love to cook (when I find time), especially with pork.  My favorite is boneless pork loin on the grill.

When I’m not in working I: Cheer for my alma mater (Illinois Fighting Illini), grill and golf.

Plans as a Graduate Director: Plan events for students to network with other students

Place you’d love to travel:  China
